Scarborough Village Surgery is a private billing practice. Our fees are structured to reflect the time you spend with your doctor and the complexity of your health issues during your consultation and are payable on the day of your appointment.
Where eligible our reception staff will process your Medicare rebate at the time of payment, either in real time or overnight.
The cost of good quality medical care is rising. The Medicare rebate does not accommodate this increase. To maintain quality healthcare at our practice, you are required to contribute towards the cost of your medical care.
We endeavour to keep our fees affordable and are well below the recommended Australian Medical Association fee structure.
Our doctors have individual fee structures and charge individual fee rates. Please refer to consultation fees for individual doctor billings.
At the discretion of your doctor certain consultations may be bulk billed. All Health Assessments and Care Plans are Bulk Billed to Medicare. Please refer to our answers to common billing questions for further information.
Fees are applicable for the transfer of your medical records to another health care professional

Answers to common billing questions
Q: Do you bulk bill?
All doctors bulk bill children under 16 years and DVA Gold Card holders.
As part of our service to maintaining good health care we offer bulk billed health assessment and care management.
All other patients are charged a private fee. The doctor at their discretion may choose to bulk bill your consultation, however, this does not mean that all future consultations will be bulk-billed.
Q: Is there a fee for cancelling my appointment?
Fees may be applied for the cancellation of your appointment when less than 2 hours notice has been provided. Failure to attend your scheduled appointment may also incur fees.
